Questions and Answers

We understand that you may have some questions about these changes, so here’s a brief Q&A to address any concerns:

Why am I being asked to provide consent again, and why are there now two consents?

We have updated our consents to be more concise and with more current information. Providing consent again is not required if you only want to view your existing data. It is required if you would like to update your information or send in a new sample.

Our consent process has also been split into two parts to customize participants’ preferences better. The Consent to Act as a Research Subject is required for all participants. The Biospecimen and Future Use Research Consent is additionally required for those who also have or will contribute a sample for analysis.

  • Consent to Act as a Research Subject: You’ll encounter this immediately after entering your profile or creating a new one.
  • Biospecimen and Future Use Research Consent: You’ll see a prompt for this under the tab “My Kits” if you previously provided a sample. Otherwise, you’ll see this when logging a new sample.

Once you agree to both consent forms, you can revisit a copy of your signed forms at any time by clicking on the three dots at the top right-hand corner of your profile page.

Why are my surveys showing as incomplete?

In addition to the interface update, we’ve introduced new survey questions for research purposes. Hence, you might see some surveys marked as unfinished until you update those sections by answering the additional questions.

Should I update my surveys?

Surveys are optional, but we encourage you to keep your information updated even if you’re not submitting a new sample. We timestamp surveys, reflecting when you last updated your answers.

We’re grateful for your ongoing support and participation in our community. We’re committed to making this project even better with your help.
